Independent literary micropress

Books for readers who stay with difficult questions.

Chinnam Press makes considered books at the meeting point of scripture, literature, and sustained attention.

View the forthcoming list

A small list,
a long attention.

We publish slowly: clear argument, humane reading, and careful typography before noise or novelty.

Each book begins with a question worth living beside. The aim is not to make difficult things easy, but to make them possible to see more truly.

Forthcoming books

Two works are in preparation.

Forthcoming

The Arc of Human Suffering How Sorrow Leads to Sight

A short, illustrated reading of Job that refuses easy explanations and follows sorrow from hearing toward sight.

Following Job

The New Temple God's Blueprint for His Church

A study in Ephesians, forthcoming after Job.

Why Chinnam?

Chinnam means “for nothing”, “without cause”, “gratis”.

The name is a house principle. Digital editions will be offered free, without digital rights management, so that price does not bar a reader from the work.

Print remains paid because paper, production, freight, retail, and distribution belong to a real physical chain. The text may be given freely; the making and movement of an object still cost something.

About the press

Chinnam Press is an independent imprint shaped around a narrow list and the time each book requires.

The public byline is Johannes der Neugierige. The press keeps its focus on the books: their questions, their craft, and their usefulness to attentive readers.
